Dr. Jennifer Catherine Franke is a board-certified cardiologist and internal medicine specialist. In parallel to medical school in Frankfurt, Germany, she began her research career early under the guidance of Prof. Dr. H. Sievert of the CardioVascular Center Frankfurt (CVC), where she performed her doctorate thesis, was the study coordinator of over 20 clinical trials and the coordinator of over 20 doctorate theses in interventional cardiology from 2002-2008.
After her residency at CVC, she went on to complete her clinical residency and enhance her research career at the department of Cardiology of the University Hospital of Heidelberg, Germany under the guidance of Prof. Dr. H.A. Katus, where she worked 7.5 years as a clinical cardiologist and researcher.
During this time, she underwent full training in clinical cardiology and internal medicine and performed research in heart failure and cardiomyopathies. She was further the head physician of the Heidelberg CardioBiobank. In this position she was in charge of a staff of 6, member of the biobank and research board and coordinator of over 10 doctorate theses.
Over the years she won numerous scholarships, was the lead investigator of IISs, co-PI of clinical registries and cohorts and carried out editorial functions for peer-reviewed journals and medical books. With an h-index of 26, over 570 impact points, over 40 book chapters, over 100 Google Scholar listed papers and 75 Medline indexed articles, she is considered a renowned researcher in the cardiovascular field.
In her role as Chief Medical Officer Cardiology Germany/Austria/Switzerland and global markets, Jennifer supported cardiology-focused healthcare transformation at Philips. She now is Business Leader Image Guided Therapy Germany/Austria/Switzerland at Philips.
