Dirk Barten is senior vice president and general manager, E.U. commercial and marketing at Intuitive. Since joining the company in 2016, Barten has led the Middle and Eastern Europe region, developing a multidepartmental group of leaders to build Germany’s first data collection system to help measure value. He also led the expansion of Germany’s top integrated delivery networks.
Prior to Intuitive, Barten was managing director at Schölly Fiberoptic GmbH in Denzlingen. Before that, he worked for General Electric Healthcare GmbH, holding several positions including integration manager for the acquisition of medical technology companies. In addition, Barten previously was European product manager at Elekta Instrument GmbH in Germany and Stockholm.
Barten studied medical technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Ulm, Germany, from 1988 to 1993 and holds a degree in business administration.
