A Physicist having completed his PhD in Physics from DCU in 1991. He was
previously Chief Physicist in St. James’s Hospital. In 2007 he took up
the role as Programme Lead on the National Integrated Medical Imaging
System (NIMIS) Project for the HSE. In 2019 he was awarded an Honorary
Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiology (RCSI) for this achievement.
In
2020 he was appointed to the Irish Government’s Open Data Governance
Board. He is the current Chair of the Health Informatics Society of
Ireland, a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society, and a Full Professor of
Health Informatics, UCD.
